Global Risks Report 2026

The Global Risks Report by the World Economic Forum now operates as a genuine strategic radar for the global context. Year after year, it has established itself as one of the leading reference sources for understanding which risks are shaping the present and which will define the economic, social, and political agenda in the future.

The 2026 edition reinforces this forward-looking approach thanks to the diversity and strength of its expert base, with more than 1,300 specialists from academia, business, the public sector, international organizations, and civil society. In addition, the report structures its analysis around three time horizons, distinguishing between current risks (2026), short- and medium-term risks (2028), and long-term risks (2036). In its twenty-first edition, the report consolidates its value as a key tool for organizations that need to read the environment more deeply and anticipate increasingly complex scenarios.

The study outlines a risk landscape in which the following stand out:

  • Immediate risks (2026): instability factors linked to geoeconomic confrontation, armed conflicts, and disinformation predominate.
  • Short and medium term (2028): more structural risks emerge, especially in the geopolitical and social spheres.
  • Long term (2036): environmental and technological risks become established as the most decisive variables for the global future.
