closePurpose-Driven Organizations. Management Ideas for a Better World emerged as a reference manual to promote companies led by a shared and differentiating purpose. The work includes, thanks to the contribution of 18 experts in this field of knowledge, the road map for defining and activating the corporate purpose.
The book has been published by Palgrave Macmillan in collaboration with the Corporate Excellence Library and DPMC. And it has been directed by the lecturer Carlos Rey, director of the Chair Management by Missions and Corporate Purpose of UIC Barcelona.
In order to share knowledge and facilitate the access of any professional to this manual on purpose, the online version of this work can now be obtained in open access format. Both the Corporate Excellence Library and the DPMC consultancy have decided to support this open publication to encourage the creation of organizations with a strong sense of purpose. In short, to promote more responsible organizations that generate positive and long-term impact in the environments in which they operate.
The physical version is also available on the website of the Palgrave Macmillan publishing house.

In the words of the editors themselves, Purpose-Driven Organizations. Management Ideas for a Better World, «In the words of the editors themselves, Purpose-Driven Organizations. Management Ideas for a Better World, “offers innovative solutions to ensure that employees support a differentiating and unique shared purpose, while the organization benefits from the individual purposes of each of its employees. This book promotes a change of model when doing business and offers a vision for both academics and practitioners. The chapters bring together academic rigour and practical models to help readers distinguish the most relevant and influential ones in this field of management”.
It should be noted that, among the pages of this work, you can also find the origin of thePurpose Strength Model®. A new measurement model that assesses, diagnoses and enhances the generation of a shared purpose in organizations. The model works on three dimensions that, as explained in the work, support a shared purpose: knowledge (its ability to inspire the stakeholders’ leadership), identification or motivation (the ability to inspire their hearts) and the contribution or impact on employee behaviours and actions (the ability to guide them on a day-to-day basis).
As a tester of the work we share an advance copy of chapter nine, entitled (Re)Discovering Organizational Purpose and written by Clara Fontán (Senior Manager of the Intelligence & Knowledge area of Corporate Excellence - Centre for Reputation Leadership), Ángel Alloza (CEO of Corporate Excellence - Centre for Reputation Leadership) and Carlos Rey (director of the Department of Missions and Corporate Governance of the International University of Catalonia).
